No Big Deal

Recently I had a conversation with a friend, whose 13-year-old son had a group of friends over, including one friend who was trans.  According to her son, it’s just a non-issue, that it’s “No Big Deal” to them - all everyone in the group cares about is that everyone is nice, and apparently like to play DnD.

I think of that conversation every time another anti-trans bill is passed, every time another law goes into effect that means people who are looking to just be true to themselves are now not allowed to, because someone decided what’s under their clothes is now public concern.  Watching what’s going on makes me sad, it makes me angry, and it makes me fearful for my trans friends, the trans children of my friends, and the trans community.

So once again I’m dyeing yarn.  I will donate at least $5 from each skein purchased to TIGERRS (www.TIGERRS.org) and match at least $500 out of my personal funds (if I can do more I will).  Minnesota is once again a safe state for those who need it, and the organizations here need all the help they can get.

The colorway isn’t the traditional trans colors; instead it’s the favorite colors of the young man who inspired the name.
